Under the Radar: Malcolm Glendinning, LSM, Springside Chestnut Hill (Pa.)/Big Four HHH and Duke's '17

Over the last few months, 3d Rising writers and evaluators have seen hundreds of hours worth of lacrosse spanning late summer into the winter, attending recruiting tournaments and showcases nationwide.

Along the way, weíve collected a list of who we view as some of the best uncommitted players, primarily in the 2015 and 2016 classes, with a few 2017s as well.

The Under the Radar series will feature commentary from club and high school coaches on some of their best players still looking for a future college destination. Weíll include highlight videos too.

Our next featured player is Malcolm Glendinning, a talented sophomore longstick midfielder who has quietly been a key defensive piece for some of the Philadelphia area's most talented club programs. But what's most interesting is that, as a freshman last season, he was running shortstick for Springside Chestnut Hill.

Glendinning competes with both the Big Four HHH program and the Duke's Lacrosse Club, and he shined with the long pole in the last year at events like the summer and fall Big Four Champions League tournaments, the Adrenaline Platinum Cup and Quakerfest. Glendinning has a strong, consistent presence in the midfield as a tough and reliable one-on-one defender. He's stocky and difficult to budge at 5 feet 10 inches tall and about 180 pounds. But he's also quick making him a real challenge to beat. Machine-like in the clearing came, Glendinning is efficient with the ball and shows shades of his history with the shortstick in making plays in transition.

Here's what Big Four HHH founder and head coach Billy McKinney had to say about Glendinning:

"Malcolm is extremely strong, fast, and athletic. He has a knack for coming away from scrums with the ball in his stick and is great on face-off wings. He is excellent between the restraining lines and extremely threatening when he pushes transition. He has a hard outside shot and has good vision. He spent last season on SCH's first midfield line (playing with a shortstick) and held his own against the national powers in the Inter-Ac league. He has the ability to shut down elite midfielders and put points on the board for his team."
